What is a Pressure Transmitter 4-20mA?
A pressure transmitter (or pressure transducer) with a 4-20mA output is a highly reliable device commonly used in industrial environments to accurately measure pressure and convert it into a standardized electrical signal. This analog signal—ranging from 4mA (representing the lowest pressure in the range) to 20mA (representing the highest pressure)—is widely used for transmitting data over long distances with minimal signal loss or interference.
The 4-20mA current loop is especially favored in process control and automation systems due to its simplicity, noise immunity, and ability to power the sensor over the same two wires used for signal transmission. For instance, when a pressure of 0 bar is detected, the transmitter sends a 4mA signal, while full-scale pressure corresponds to a 20mA signal. This linear relationship ensures precise monitoring and easy integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, and other industrial controllers.
Application:
► Mobile hydraulic station monitoring
► Die casting
► Various machinery manufacturing
► Oxygen environment applications
